For the first time, Productive Edge (PE) was honored to participate in the University of Illinois' (U of I) largest hackathon event. With a goal of creating a safe open-source environment where students can push creativity and innovation, this prestigious event brings in over 1,200 students from around the country planning a career in computer science.
The event consists of students breaking up into teams and spending three days working on their open-source projects such as mobile applications, web applications, and system implementations. The students are partnered with mentors from various organizations who assist them through their project development. At the conclusion of the event, students present their projects in hopes of being awarded an opportunity to contribute to production projects.
A team of PE employees attended the event to lend the students their expertise in emerging technologies. Students were eager to learn about PE's specializations including machine learning, Blockchain, and virtual reality. Our employees took on a mentorship role assisting students throughout the hackathon with their technical knowledge and guidance. Possible future internship and career opportunities for after graduation were also discussed.
While our team was unable to participate in the entire event throughout the weekend, we had a great time meeting with hundreds of students and learning about their passions and future career objectives.
If you would like to partner with PE for future collaborations and events, please connect with our team at firstname.lastname@example.org or 312-561-9000. You can also learn more about the University of Illinois HackIllinois event at https://www.hackillinois.org/
Thank you to all of the Productive Edge employees that dedicated time and effort in this event!
